Deepest sympathies

Cliftonville Football Club are deeply saddened to learn of the death of former Cliftonville Olympic player Jerry Thompson.

A Reserve League title winner in 2016, Jerry left Solitude in the summer of the same year and was subsequently on the books of Larne, Donegal Celtic, Portadown and Ards and had been performing well for Carrick Rangers in this season’s Danske Bank Premiership; scoring his first goal for the east Antrim outfit less than a fortnight ago.

In addition to extending our sincere condolences to his team-mates and colleagues at Carrick as well as everyone he worked with in our Olympic squad and the other Clubs he represented, everyone at Cliftonville FC naturally has Jerry’s friends and family in our thoughts at this most difficult of times. May he rest in peace.
