Supporting role

Cliftonville Football Club places on record sincere thanks for the magnificent backing our fans provided to the team in last night’s 4-0 victory over Barry Town United.

In addition to turning out in huge numbers for the pre-match Europa League Fanzone – where the generous hospitality displayed towards visiting fans was remarked upon by our guests – the Red Army packed into Solitude before kick-off as a magical European night atmosphere began to build.

With the home end of the stadium filled to designated capacity long before lengthy queues at the turnstiles had subsided, a significant amount of supporters were directed towards the Bowling Green end of the ground, where they were no doubt delighted to be a close-up part of the celebrations when Cliftonville made their all-important breakthrough courtesy of Conor McMenamin’s thumping header.

The Football Club extends gratitude to everyone concerned for their patience, cooperation and understanding and further thanks our supporters – whether they roared the team on from the McAlery Stand, the Main Stand Lower or the Bowling Green End – for their contribution to a memorable night at Solitude.
