Tough spot for Olympic

Cliftonville Olympic missed two penalties as they were held to a frustrating 0-0 draw with Ards II at Solitude this evening.

In a keenly contested Premiership Development League side, Declan O’Hara’s side were afforded a glorious opportunity to forge ahead in the first-half when Paul McAdorey stepped up to the spot and, though he failed to convert, a similar chance was presented to Thomas Maguire, who was likewise unable to make the most of the last-minute chance.

Despite a strong second-half performance that should have yielded victory from open play, the Reds were therefore forced to settle for just a single point for their efforts.
