Drawn conclusions

Cliftonville Olympic battled to a 2-2 draw with Newry City Reserves in this evening’s Premiership Development League encounter at The Showgrounds.

Following their elongated break due to the weather-enforced postponement of last week’s trip to tackle Glentoran II, Declan O’Hara’s side raced into a 2-0 lead courtesy of goals from Thomas Maguire (pictured) and Paul McAdorey.

A 35th minute red card for Dylan Snoddon would, however, heighten the visitors’ task and, though Newry stormed back to level matters, the Reds held on for a hard-earned point.
