Grove concerns

Tomas Cosgrove says Cliftonville are determined to tackle their recent North Belfast Derby record when Crusaders visit Solitude this evening.

Both sides go into tonight’s County Antrim Shield Quarter Final tie on the back of positive weekends and, though the Crues have enjoyed the upper hand in these affairs of late, Cosgrove believes the Reds are capable of bucking the trend.

“We’ve been reminded by the fans all the time and everyone about our derby record against Crusaders,” he says.

“It hurts, it’s something we need to address and we’re confident that we can get the win in the County Antrim Shield game and start to challenge Crusaders again in the head to head fixtures.”

You can read the full Cosgrove interview in this evening’s edition of our Matchday Magazine, which will be on sale at Solitude for £2.50.

Alongside boss Barry Gray’s pre-game views, The Red Eye’s 10th issue of the campaign reviews the Crues’ return to winning ways, delivers the latest addition to your player poster collections and turns the clock back 108 years to a hard-fought comeback – plus plenty more besides.

Our Matchday Magazine has attained a top-three position in the NI Football Programme Collectors’ annual awards poll for the last six seasons so, if you’re not a regular reader, why not take a look at what you’ve been missing out on?
