Honest night’s work

Portadown have today confirmed that they will be operating an ‘honesty box’ policy for Wednesday’s Sports Direct Premiership fixture with Cliftonville.

The original encounter at Shamrock Park on February 17 – which was abandoned due to floodlight failure – was largely attended by supporters who paid cash at the turnstiles and, as such, the Ports are unable to fully track those spectators who would be liable for either a refund or free admission to this rearranged contest.

That being the case, fans who were not present at that game but intend to be at Shamrock Park for Wednesday’s rescheduled tie will be asked to make a voluntary payment while entering the stadium.

Tickets purchased online for the February 17 clash (or indeed for the fixture’s original January 3 date) will remain valid for use.
