Chairman’s Christmas Message
As we approach the festive period and the end of 2025, we can all take the opportunity to reflect on our memories of the past 12 months.
The year has been a successful one on and off the pitch, despite many challenges.
On the pitch, we qualified for Europe again and won the BetMcLean Cup. Our Ladies team, too, continue to achieve success and the standard of our Academy sides keeps progressing year on year.
Off the pitch, we have been modestly profitable at a time when financial sustainability is essential for all Clubs, and we have scored the highest marks in the NI Football Fund application process, putting us at the forefront for stadium funding.
However, as a Club, the festive season will bring back the sad memories of losing a wonderful young man and colleague; Michael Newberry, whose passing a year ago rocked us to the core. At this time of year, Michael’s family, friends and our own players are in all our thoughts and prayers.
Whilst remembering Michael will be uppermost in our thoughts, on behalf of the Management Committee, I want to wish each and every one of our players and staff members, volunteers and supporters a wonderful Christmas and best wishes for 2026.
Hopefully 2026 will unite us and bring us more success both on and off the pitch.
