All of the fun of the Fleadh
Huge thanks are extended to everyone who made today’s Family Fun Day at Solitude such a roaring success.
We were delighted to help so many members of the public get into the Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann spirit a week before the world’s largest celebration of traditional Irish music and culture descends upon our home city for the very first time.
As well as being grateful to the organisers, community groups, volunteers, Browns Fish & Chips and everyone who assisted in putting this afternoon’s event together, we also thank everyone who turned up to show their support and trust that attendees of all ages enjoyed the variety of activities, games and events that were provided for absolutely free – not to mention the wonderful Irish Dancers, who kept the crowds entertained.
Though too plentiful to namecheck everyone who made a contribution, it would be remiss to let the occasion pass without mentioning the considerable efforts of Joanne McMullan, who once again ensured that every request at an exceptionally busy Reds Shop was catered to.
On which note, meanwhile, we are delighted to report staggering interest in our limited edition Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann Béal Feirste jerseys, which have already outstripped away shirt sales!
Available at a cost of £48 for Adults and £40 in Kids sizes, the slick ensembles come in two striking compositions with a predominantly Red effort offset by green and white adornment, accompanied by a White top garnished with emerald and orange trim.
The imminent arrival of Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann in Belfast is acknowledged beneath the Club crest while, on the back, Cliftonville’s status as the island’s oldest Football Club is celebrated with ‘Ceannródaithe na hÉireann’ sloganing above imagery inspired by a late 19th century map of Ireland – which, as well as representing the era of our formation, also provides a timely nod to our founding father John McCredy McAlery, whose grave was rededicated at Balmoral Cemetery this afternoon.
Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann will be hosted in Belfast for the very first time from August 2-9 and, if you’re planning on attending any events throughout the eagerly-anticipated festival, make sure you show your colours with pride by sporting one of these latest stylish additions to the Cliftonville collection which, as well as being available from The Reds Shop, can also be snapped up online.
