Congratulations to Caitlin McGuinness, who has been named May’s Sports Direct Player of the Month by the NI Football Writers’ Association.

After finding the net as the Reds opened their Sports Direct Women’s Premiership campaign with a 5-0 victory over Lisburn Ladies, McGuinness struck the winner when Brendan Lynch’s side defeated Athlone Town in the All-Island Cup.

A double them followed when Cliftonville put seven unanswered goals past North Belfast Derby rivals Crusaders Strikers ahead of another brace helping the Reds roar back from 2-0 down to get the better of Linfield Women at Solitude.

The 23-year-old also enjoyed a productive June and will bid to kick July off on a winning note when she and her team-mates lock horns with Glentoran Women in this afternoon’s Boyle Sports Women’s Cup Final at Seaview.
