A race well run
Huge thanks to everyone who played their part in what was quite literally a marathon effort at Solitude today.
Alongside the Coffee Morning hosted for Cliftonville fans and members of the local community in the McAlery Stand, our volunteers also set up and manned support stations for Belfast Marathon runners, many of whom were only too pleased to avail of the drinks and energy-boosting snacks that were handed out as they passed Solitude.
Whether you were part of our Community Outreach Group, a Reds supporter who came along to lend a hand, a friend or relative of one of the runners or someone who simply wanted to enjoy the day in our company, we were delighted with the efforts that everyone put into the occasion – including, of course, those who supplied the various drinks and treats that ensured our Media Room was a hive of activity.
Don’t forget that today was simply part one of a busy May Day Bank Holiday weekend at Solitude, where we will be only too pleased to welcome everyone back for tomorrow’s Community Fun Day, which gets under way at 1pm.
