Ladies’ three spirits

Cliftonville Ladies are delighted to announce the signings of Louise McDaniel, Caitlin McGuinness and Kirsty McGuinness.

The McGuinness sisters – 18-year-old Caitlin and 26-year-old Kirsty – join from Sion Swifts, while their fellow former Linfield team-mate McDaniel, who arrives subject to international clearance, has signed from Hearts following a spell with Blackburn Rovers.

All three are Northern Ireland internationals, with the elder McGuinness sibling having made her senior bow aged just 15, and Reds boss John McGrady was thrilled to confirm the trio’s arrival at Solitude.

“We are delighted with all three signings,” said McGrady, whose side begin their Danske Bank Women’s Premiership campaign against Derry City Women next Wednesday.

“All three have played a big part in Northern Ireland getting to the European Championships. They will add quality and depth to the current squad.

“Kirsty comes with a vast depth of experience. Her goal scoring abilities and assists speak for themselves. She will improve any team and has had a lot of interest from every Irish League Club and teams across the water.

“Her younger sister Caitlin is an exciting young player who can score goals from inside and outside the box, while Louise McDaniel is a talented midfielder who comes back home after spells at Blackburn and Hearts. She has the ability to open up defences with quality passes that other players don’t even think of.”
