Hall of Fame: 1979 Irish Cup winners

Cliftonville’s 1979 Irish Cup winning team were inducted to the John McCredy McAlery Hall of Fame in May 2019 in recognition of the 40th anniversary of their iconic success.

The Reds overcame Portadown 3-2 in a never-to-be-forgotten Final that saw the trophy clinched with virtually the last kick of the ball at Windsor Park and, while this page acknowledges the squad’s place in the Club’s Hall of Fame, Manager Jackie Hutton and his players – Walter Mills, Tony Bell, Marty Quinn, John Platt, Mike Adair, John Flanagan, Brian Johnston, Eamonn Largey, Brendan McGuckin, Peter McCusker, Ciaran McCurry and John O’Connor – will soon be afforded their own individual tributes.
