Ryan Curran struck two second-half goals to earn Cliftonville a deserved victory over Warrenpoint Town this afternoon.
Indebted to goalkeeper Richard Brush for a brave stop to deny Alan O’Sullivan in the opening minutes at The Q Radio Arena, the Reds controlled the contest thereafter and were unfortunate not to lead at the interval with Curran and namesake Chris going close to breaking the deadlock.
Cliftonville remained on the front foot after the break and eventually edged in front on 64 minutes when Curran tucked a pinpoint finish into the bottom corner and, soon later, he got the better of Town keeper Berraat Turker again to make it 2-0, before the Point stopper made an excellent save to deny the Reds frontman his hat-trick.
