Cliftonville 4-0 Banbridge Town
Jay Donnelly netted twice as Cliftonville overcame the challenge of Banbridge Town in this evening’s League Cup Second Round tie at Solitude.
Chris Curran set the Reds on their way when he broke the deadlock after 10 minutes, with Donnelly doubling the Reds’ advantage shortly afterwards.
The striker made it 3-0 early in the second period and, after Joe Gormley had converted Cliftonville’s fourth, looked on as two net-bound drives were deflected to safety – one by Gormley and the other by Town defender Stephen Acheson.
