Olympic are two strong

Cliftonville Olympic made Intermediate Cup progress at the expense of Glentoran II with a 2-0 win in this afternoon’s Second Round clash at Solitude.

Conor Scannell (pictured) opened the scoring on five minutes after latching on to a smart assist from Peter McKiernan, who would double the Reds’ advantage with a sizzling strike before the interval.

McKiernan then became the first of two home players to be denied by the woodwork in the second-half, with Bailey Carroll likewise prevented from extending the Olympic’s lead.
