Form belief

Mark McKee says that, while there can be no under-estimation of Ballymena United, he has faith Cliftonville can maintain their fine form by focusing on their own performance tomorrow.

The Reds haven’t dropped a Danske Bank Premiership point since suffering a 2-1 reverse at the Sky Blues’ hands in late September and McKee – who marked his first start for the Club with the opening goal in last week’s defeat of Warrenpoint Town – is well aware of the threat he and his team mates will face at Solitude.

“Every team has the potential to cause problems and especially Ballymena,” says the midfielder.

“They’d a great year last year. It’s just about how we deal with them on the day.

“We’re on a good run at the minute and I’m fairly sure if we play to our potential, we’ll get the win that we need and keep the run going.”

You can read the full McKee interview in this this weekend’s edition of our Matchday Magazine, which will be on sale at Solitude for £3.

Featuring Paddy McLaughlin’s pre-match views, The Red Eye’s 12th issue of the campaign carries your latest player poster, reflects on Ballymena’s bid for a return to form and steps 118, 45 and 17 years back down memory lane – plus plenty more besides.

Our Matchday Magazine has attained a top-three position in the NI Football Programme Collectors’ annual awards poll for the last eight seasons – assuming the runners-up position on six of those occasions – so, if you’re not a regular reader, why not take a look at what you’ve been missing out on?
