Cap in hand

Congratulations to Cliftonville’s Megan Weatherall, Amber Dempster and Rachel McConnell on being formally presented with their futsal international caps this week.

The trio contributed to a little bit of footballing history earlier this year when they were part of the Northern Ireland squad that contested the first ever international futsal fixtures in Gibraltar, with Dempster twice on target in the visitors’ 3-0 win.

With caps now in their possession amid ambitions of further rewards on the international stage, all three will first hope to help the Reds pick up Danske Bank Women’s Premiership points when the team host Glentoran Women in tomorrow night’s clash at Solitude.
