Derr to believe

Cliftonville Ladies will bid to close the gap at the top of the Danske Bank Women’s Premiership when they face Derry City Ladies at Solitude tomorrow night.

The Reds are currently third in the table, six points behind leaders Linfield Ladies with two games in hand, and can leapfrog Crusaders Strikers into second if they can get the better of the Candystripes.

The sides have met on two prior occasions this season, with Cliftonville emerging victorious in both. After a superb 5-0 victory in May’s Premiership encounter at The Brandywell – where Emma McMaster, Amber Dempster (2), Hannah Grieve and Orlaith McVeagh were on target – two goals from Chloe Orr in addition to a Billie Simpson strike saw the Reds home in a League Cup Semi Final tie that went to extra time a fortnight later.

Kick-off at Solitude tomorrow is 8pm and, as ever, Martin Douglas’ side would be delighted to avail of the Red Army’s support.
