Wee Reds’ Final countdown

Congratulations to Cliftonville Strollers, who overcame Glenavon III in this evening’s Harry Cavan Youth Cup Semi Final at Seaview.

The Wee Reds clocked up an emphatic 6-0 scoreline against the Lurgan Blues and await the winner of the yet-to-be-arranged last-four clash between Linfield Rangers and Coleraine Academy.

Eoin Teggart opened the scoring on 19 minutes ahead of John Savage doubling the Strollers’ advantage on the stroke of half-time.

Three minutes after the interval, Ciaran Donnelly made it 3-0, with Caoimhin McConnell adding the fourth shortly later.

It was 5-0 when McConnell converted from the penalty spot in the closing minutes, but there was still enough time for the Wee Reds to register a sixth – Teggart finishing well to earn his second goal of the evening and put the seal on a fine team display.
