Support act

As Cliftonville prepare for this weekend’s return to Solitude, we’re reminding supporters of Barry Gray’s words of praise for the Red Army’s significant vocal backing.

Saturday’s Danske Bank Premiership encounter with Dungannon Swifts will only be Gray’s third home League game at the helm but he’s already been struck by the impact our fans can have and wants his players to feed off that passion and enthusiasm from the sidelines.

“We have something special here at Solitude,” he said last month. “If we tap into it, we can really make it work for us but it’s down to the team to make sure our supporters are seeing what they want to see.”

While Gray will once again urge his players “to give the fans something to support”, we’re encouraging the Red Army to make a real day of things as Cliftonville seek to kick-start their season.

Tickets remain available for the Club’s Matchday Lunch with George McMullan at Cliftonville Bowling Club, while the Social Club will be running its recently-introduced matchday offer, where supporters are invited to come along to Solitude a little earlier than usual and avail of our £2.50 pints (between 12pm-2pm) and engage in some pre-match chat with your fellow fans, while youngsters can show their true colours by availing of our resident face painter’s services.
