Cliftonville completed their pre-season programme with an emphatic defeat of Newington YC at Solitude this afternoon.

Ahead through an early brace of exquisite Joe Gormley strikes, the Reds made it 3-0 through Jay Donnelly before Ciaran Caldwell pounced to net number four.

Donnelly seized on a slack backpass to register again before the break, with substitute Stephen Garrett making an almost immediate impact; scoring the sixth himself, teeing Jude Winchester up for the seventh and then hitting number eight before Daniel Hughes wrapped things up with a delightful strike in the closing minutes.
